\n\"\"<\/a>The host of \u201cThe Daily Show,\u201d Jon Stewart, announced last week that he will lead a rally \u2013 \u201cA Rally to Restore Sanity\u201d \u2013 on the D.C. mall on Oct. 30, just three days before the midterm elections. He will be joined by a faux counter-demonstration from Stephen Colbert, who will lead what he calls \u201cA March to Keep Fear Alive.\u201d<\/p>\n

But before all the Comedy Central mischief gets underway, the AFL-CIO and the NAACP will headline a more serious and much-needed rally at the Lincoln Memorial bringing thousands of union members together with community activists, students, entertainers, civil and human rights leaders and progressive politicians to march for jobs, justice and education.<\/p>\n

Thousands more union members in dozens of states will be knocking on the doors of union members Oct. 2 in a massive daylong get-out-the-vote mobilization.<\/p>\n

AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka in an interview with FSTV<\/a> said, \u201cWe want to show a progressive vision for America, one where we come together and we work together.\u201d<\/p>\n
